About the Journal

Ungsinn is a scientific journal specialising in interventions and is dedicated to summarising and disseminating knowledge about interventions that promote mental health among children and adolescents. We focus on systematic reviews of evidence for individual interventions—methods, interventions, programmes—intended to promote good mental health and/or prevent or treat mental health issues and disorders. Our aim is to provide a thorough assessment of the effectiveness of these interventions, based on Nordic studies and Norwegian practice.

The articles in Ungsinn differ from some other systematic reviews of evidence where the main purpose is to assess the evidence for the effectiveness of interventions regardless of where the studies were conducted. With a national mandate, Ungsinn seeks to summarise knowledge about the effects of interventions used in Norway. Therefore, Ungsinn only includes interventions that are available in Norway. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on ensuring that the interventions in the studies are the same as those used in Norwegian practice, and the classifications are primarily based on Nordic studies.

Ungsinn is operated by the Regional Centre for Child and Youth Mental Health and Child Welfare, North (RKBU North) at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, with funding from the Norwegian Directorate of Health.
